How it works
Linear units convert through a canonical base unit. Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin use their scale offsets and ratios; temperature is not converted with a simple multiplier.

- Units are explicitly named with their symbols and descriptions.
- US liquid gallon is used for gallons.
- Weight uses mass units such as kilogram, gram, pound, and ounce.
Limitations
- Rounded display values may omit digits that are not visible at the chosen precision.
- The converter does not infer units from free text.
- Specialized units, regional definitions, and context-dependent measures are not included unless explicitly added.

Which temperature formulas are used?
Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin use their correct scale offsets and ratios. For example, Celsius to Fahrenheit is °F = °C × 9/5 + 32.
Why are some digits rounded?
Results show a sensible number of decimal places while retaining more precision for very small or very large values. The underlying calculation uses full JavaScript number precision.
Can I convert area or volume units?
Yes. Area and volume units use their correct squared or cubed scale factors, such as square feet to square meters and cubic feet to cubic meters.
